Why Does Prachi Desai Think We Are Forgetting Our Culture?
Sporting a bespectacled look with her hair made into two plats and clad in a specially hand-woven saree by Shruti Sancheti, actress Prachi Desai rocked the de-glam look on the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week. And therein lies her charm.
Speaking exclusively to Team MissMalini, Prachi says, “I love sarees. They are such glamorous outfits. And I’m so happy to be wearing this particular saree in support of the Weaver’s Association. In our enthusiasm to ape the west and be modern, somewhere we are forgetting our own culture, our textiles, our handlooms. So when Shruti showed me this saree and asked me to walk the ramp in it, I jumped at the opportunity because it’s so exquisitely created.”
